Northgate

Developer tools

A changelog your internal tools can publish to.

Northgate gives internal platforms one place to announce changes, deprecations and incidents — with an API your services can call straight from the deploy pipeline.

What it does

Deploy hooks

Post a release note from CI with one signed request; drafts wait for review.

Deprecation windows

Give downstream teams a dated timeline and automatic reminders.

Readable history

Filter by service, owner or severity and link straight to the run that shipped it.

Recent changes

  • v2.14.0Release notes can be drafted from a commit range.
  • v2.13.1Fixed reminder mail going out twice on retries.
  • v2.13.0Service owners can now delegate publishing rights.

Docs & support

The API is a small JSON surface: create an entry, attach a service, publish. SDKs for Go, Python and TypeScript are in the same repository as the server, and the webhook payload is documented end to end.

Northgate is self-hosted. It ships as a single binary with SQLite by default and Postgres for larger installs; there are no external services to configure.
